Art and Environmental Activism - Gallery Talk & Dialogue
when: Mar 20 2008 | 19.00 h - 21.00 h
Where: The Gallery at 910 - Denver
The evening will begin with the short film Water Speaking Water by Loori followed by a short presentation, then a dialogue with the audience on artistic expression and its place in environmental activism.

We will examine early American relationships to art and nature, such as the Hudson River School of Painting and how this movement ultimately resulted in the creation of the world?s first forest preserve and the birth of environmentalism.

We will explore the fact that what has contributed most to our love of wild nature, our sense of citizenship and identity with it, is the art, literature, myth, and lore of nature.

We will examine the question How can creative artists and writers rise to the aid of this great earth and its wild nature?
